Hallelujah! Harvard University named its first female president today. Drew Gilpin Faust, a noted scholar of the American South and dean of Harvard's Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, becomes Harvard's 28th president.
This is indeed an omen that Hillary Clinton will become the first female president of the US, a great reason to rejoice!

It is intriguing, indeed, that leading up to the 2008 presidential election we have not only the first woman with a serious chance of being elected president, but the first African-American and first Hispanic-Americans in the top tier of candidates.
What a change from the years of my youth when tens of millions of Americans would not vote for a Roman Catholic candidate for president.
I watched 60 Minutes this evening and listened intently to Barack Obama as he was interviewed by Steve Kroft of CBS. It was interesting to find out just how inteligent he is as a presidential candidate; he is the only candidate I have ever known to expose the skeletons in his closet up front. His honesty is to be commended. Yes he smoked pot, crack, and recently quit smoking cigarettes. Good for him. He will appeal to the youth of America.
He admitted that the African-American vote will have to be earned, as polls of A-A Dems show an overwhelming support for Clinton.
His desire to end the conflict in Iraq is definitely a draw for the popular vote. I just hope to hell that our Republican warlord does not escalate this war to a point that disallows the next U.S. president to successfully undo the damage that has been or will be done.
Win or lose, history is being made during our lifetime. I dreamt about a qualified woman, African- American, Asian and Jewish presidential candidate most of my life. There has been a stigma to overcome and now that qualified candidates are in the running, I hope that the voting public supports them on their qualifications and not fall victim to stigma.
God Bless them both and I hope change prevails.
